History of dates

Dates are a monocotyledonous and tropical plant in the genus of palms whose fruit is edible and has a hard core and thin skin and a sweet taste that hangs in the form of large clusters from the branch and its leaves are large. The height of date palms reaches 10 to 20 meters or even more

Its scientific name is Phoneix dactylifera, a plant of the genus Phoenix and the palm family (or palm). Most species of the genus Phoenix are grown as an ornamental plant, and the only species whose fruit is eaten is the common date palm

The unripe fruit of the date is called “Khark” or Kong (and in Arabic, “Hobabuk”)

Rutab is the pre-ripening stage of dates that has more moisture and less sugar than fully ripe dates

Dates have been abundant since ancient times in the lands between the Nile and Euphrates rivers and are said to have spread in prehistoric times from Senegal to the Indus River basin in northern India. The date palm tree grows in tropical and subtropical regions, including Iran. Although its origins are mentioned in Mesopotamia, Saudi Arabia and North Africa,But scientific studies have attributed it to a scientific species called P.H. Sivestris which is grown in India . Archaeologists attribute the construction of the groves to 5,000 years ago because they got their name from clay tablets from 50 centuries ago
