In Kerman province, there is a tropical region called Jiroft, which is one of the date-growing regions of the country. Various places in this city, including Anbarabad, Faryab and Qala-e-Ganj, are under the cultivation of Kalooteh dates. This date (also known as Kaliteh date) is almost similar in appearance to Mazafati dates. But it has a lighter color and less syrup than Mazafati cultivar. Due to the higher durability of this figure, it is a good choice for export.
Features of Jiroft Kalooteh dates include:
- Shape: Oval, fleshy and soft appearance
- Texture: Semi-dry
- Color: black – brown
- Humidity: 14-17%
- Thickness: 3-5 cm
- Taste: Sweet with the right amount of sugar
- Harvest time: early September
Klooteh dates are classified according to quality and quantity per kilogram:
